Short biography of Stephen King

King of Thrills and Chills

Stephen King is recognized as a very successful and popular horror writer in history. His first novel, Carrie, was sold in 1973, a book that was a huge success after it was published the following year, and this gave him the chance to devote as a full time writer. He wrote other popular novels, which include Cujo (1981), Firestarter (1980), Salem’s Lot (1975), The Shining (1977), and IT (1986).

Several of King’s books were published with the pen name “Richard Bachman”, and most of his works were about sewer-dwelling monsters and vicious rabid dogs. He used this pen name
because he was concerned that the public won’t accept more than one book from an author in a year.
